Scorpion’s Final Sting: Demolition Underway at Busch Gardens Tampa
While exploring Busch Gardens Tampa this past Saturday for the Power Rangers event, we made a stop in Pantopia to check on the status of Scorpion.

At first glance, nothing had visibly changed since the coaster was shut down in September 2024 and left standing but not operating. However, a closer look revealed signs that demolition is finally underway.

The ride vehicle has been towed backward from the station into the final brake run and is missing several cars. According to rumors, a roller coaster manufacturer has purchased Scorpion—likely to salvage parts for other Schwarzkopf coasters still operating around the world. The track itself is reportedly set to be scrapped, smelted down, and recycled.

We also spotted maintenance crews from Busch Gardens Tampa inspecting the station track and brake run. Additionally, team members appeared to be examining something inside the attraction’s engineering building—another clear indication that deconstruction is actively in progress.
Demolition
As of today, May 6, 2025, the removal process has officially begun. You can see some of the early demolition activity in this video posted by @teejayiscool on X (formerly Twitter). We don’t yet know how long the tear down will take, but judging by how quickly things are moving, it may be gone sooner rather than later.
