Universal Orlando Construction Update: Lost Continent Overhaul HHN 35 Merch, and Fast and Furious construction: 03-31-2026

Port of Entry – Lost Emporium
We kick off this trip at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, diving straight into the mysterious and often-overlooked Lost Continent—but not before making a quick stop at the Lost Emporium. This location has now become the park’s go-to destination for all things Halloween, featuring a fresh lineup of merchandise for Halloween Horror Nights 35. Among the highlights are brand-new T-shirts, tumblers, and other themed items, including an event shirt showcasing fan-favorite icons like Jack the Clown and Dr. Oddfellow.

Wizarding World – Hogwarts
Making our way deeper into the Lost Continent, noticeable changes are already underway. Over in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Hogsmeade, major façade refurbishment is taking place, with Hogwarts Castle currently covered in tarps. Despite the visual overhaul, the attraction itself remains operational during this period.

Around Lost Continent
As previously rumored, construction walls have now begun appearing throughout the Lost Continent. While we didn’t capture photos during this visit—these images were taken just days before the walls went up at The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show Theater—we’ll be keeping a close eye on developments. Expect continued updates, including aerial perspectives in collaboration with bioreconstruct, as changes unfold across the land.

The Lost City
Starting in the The Lost City, the current focal point of the area is Mythos Restaurant. This award-winning dining location could potentially be impacted by future construction, depending on the scope of upcoming projects. Notably, the expansive waterfront space surrounding Mythos remains largely underutilized, offering a prime viewing area that feels perfectly suited for a future nighttime lagoon show

On the opposite side of the walkway, we come face-to-face with the former Poseidon’s Fury. The attraction officially closed in May 2023 and has remained dormant ever since, quietly awaiting its next chapter. With construction activity beginning to pick up nearby, speculation continues to grow. Current rumors suggest that a new experience—potentially involving Intamin—could be on the horizon, signaling a major transformation for this section of the park in the near future.

Continuing further along the pathway, we encounter the The Pearl Factory location—part of the well-known Forever Pearls experience—alongside a nearby outdoor vending cart and Fire Eater’s Grill. This stretch of the Lost Continent still offers a mix of quick bites and interactive shopping, though it now feels increasingly transitional as changes begin to take shape throughout the land.

Sindbad’s Bazaar
Passing beneath the iconic Serpent’s Arch, we arrive at what is currently the far end of the Lost Continent—Sindbad’s Bazaar. This area was once home to The Eighth Voyage of Sindbad Stunt Show, as well as the recently closed All Hallows Eve Boutique.

Despite these closures, a few offerings remain active in the area. Guests can still interact with the ever-entertaining Mystic Fountain, grab a bite from Doc Sugrue’s Desert Kebab House, or access the park’s First Aid facility located nearby.

However, recent developments signal continued change. Construction walls have now been erected, blocking full access to the Sinbad Theater and even extending to the service animal relief area. These updates strongly suggest that preparations are actively underway for the next phase of redevelopment, marking a significant shift for what was once one of the most immersive sections of the park.

Construction Walls
Here, we can see an aerial photo captured by BioConstruct showcasing newly installed construction walls behind the Mystic Fountain, completely blocking access to the former Sinbad Theater. Additionally, surrounding landscaping has been removed, signaling preparations for the upcoming demolition

Overall, the Lost Continent is clearly entering a period of major transition at Universal’s Islands of Adventure. With increasing construction activity, closed attractions, and subtle shifts in how spaces are being utilized, this once richly themed land appears to be on the brink of significant change. From the dormant Poseidon’s Fury to the evolving Sinbad area, all signs point toward a larger redevelopment effort taking shape. While much remains unconfirmed, the groundwork being laid today strongly hints at an exciting new future for this section of the park. As always, we’ll continue to monitor progress and bring you the latest updates as the transformation unfolds.
Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift
Moving over to Universal Studios Florida, we can spot ongoing construction in the New York area for the upcoming Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift attraction. The ride’s maintenance building is already deep into construction, while footers—and possibly track switch components—are taking shape nearby. Adjacent to The Tonight Show and behind the Ghostbusters firehouse façade, the attraction’s station has now begun to go vertical. Meanwhile, off-site near Epic Universe, track pieces from Intamin have also started arriving

With visible progress accelerating across multiple areas, it’s clear this project is moving full steam ahead. From vertical construction in the New York section to track deliveries arriving nearby, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is quickly transforming from concept to reality. As work continues to ramp up, we’ll be keeping a close eye on every major milestone—so stay tuned to Florida Thrills for updates.
