Welcome to SeaWorld Orlando, where the park is rapidly preparing for one of its busiest summer seasons in years. From major construction projects and attraction upgrades to rehearsals for an all-new Orca presentation and continued progress on the upcoming Wild Oasis transformation, there is noticeable activity taking place across nearly every corner of the park. With Electric Ocean just weeks away and several new experiences planned for 2026, SeaWorld Orlando is in the middle of a significant period of change that guests can already begin to see during a visit to the park.
SeaWorld Orlando May 2026 Updates: New Orca Show Rehearsals, SeaQuest Construction & Electric Ocean Details
Around the Park
At the front entrance of SeaWorld Orlando, construction is underway on a brand-new permanent location for the All-Day Dining Deal, replacing the temporary kiosk previously located near Manta. The new setup is being built adjacent to the SeaWorld Rescue Store.

Right next door at Coaster Coffee Company, annual passholders can still find one of the park’s best values: the All Season Drink Cup. The 2026 cup includes unlimited fountain Coca-Cola products and ICEEs throughout the year for around $60. Unlike last year, the program is also expected to work at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay as well. However, guests should note that no discounts apply to the purchase — including Busch Bucks.

Over at Waterway Grill, the familiar dividing wall has returned as preparations begin for this year’s Howl-O-Scream event. Nearby, activity has also picked up around the former Clydesdale Hamlet area, where visible work appears to be taking place.

SeaQuest
Construction continues on SeaWorld’s brand-new Vekoma dark ride, SeaQuest. Previously announced for a Spring opening, the attraction is still scheduled to debut sometime in 2026.

Located behind Expedition Odyssey inside a massive new show building, crews continue installing track as the attraction slowly takes shape. From aboard the Sky Tower, guests can also spot ongoing work on pathways and surrounding infrastructure that will connect visitors to the new experience once it opens.

Expedition Odyssey
Expedition Odyssey was barely open for a year before SeaWorld announced additional upgrades. A brand-new indoor queue is currently under construction inside the building, although the park appears to be preserving a large portion of the existing queue space for festivals and Howl-O-Scream operations.

SeaWorld has officially announced that the attraction will reopen on May 25 at 2 p.m. Annual passholder previews will begin earlier, with Platinum Pass Members gaining access on Saturday, May 23 at 3 p.m., followed by Gold Pass Members and above on Sunday. Bronze Pass Members and above will then have preview access on Monday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Orca Encounter
Over at Orca Stadium, rehearsals have officially begun for the park’s still-unannounced new Orca presentation. Along with rehearsals, the stage itself has also been receiving updates. The former wooden plank-style set pieces have now been replaced with detailed rock work along the back walls of the stadium set.

This updated aesthetic has also started carrying over into the Orca Underwater Viewing Area. While SeaWorld has yet to officially reveal details about the new production, we predict the updated show could debut in time for next month’s Electric Ocean festival.

Electric Ocean
This year’s Electric Ocean lineup will feature updated versions of several fan-favorite nighttime animal presentations, including Shamu Celebration: Light Up the Night, Sea Lions Tonite, and Dolphins: Touch the Sky.
In addition to the returning animal presentations, guests can also experience Club SeaGlow, the Hydro Surge cirque spectacular, and an updated version of IGNITE Fireworks featuring an all-new drone show.
The festival officially kicks off for all guests on June 12, while annual passholders will receive an exclusive preview of the updated animal presentations during Pass Member VIP Ride Night on June 11.
With major construction projects continuing, updated entertainment on the horizon, and new experiences steadily taking shape, SeaWorld Orlando is clearly trying to improve their park. Between the ongoing work on SeaQuest, minor upgrades throughout the park, and the return of Electric Ocean next month, guests visiting this summer can expect to see both exciting additions and plenty of visible progress around the park.

As always, Florida Thrills will continue to follow all of the latest developments from SeaWorld Orlando as more announcements are revealed.
