Busch Gardens Tampa: Roller Coaster 5K Challenge
This year Busch Gardens Tampa is trying something different. Instead of the usual offerings, the park is hosting a Roller Coaster 5K that delivers extended ride time on Cheetah Hunt plus quick-queue access for a total of four rides.
True to the 5K theme, participants receive an official race bib, a commemorative headband and wristband set, plus fresh fruit and bottled water to stay hydrated while they scream their way through the challenge. Finishers earn a commemorative medal and can snap a photo at a themed backdrop to mark the day.
The experience is not included with regular admission. Annual pass holders can purchase it for the discounted rate of $36 (a $4 savings from the regular $40 price).

SeaWorld Orlando: Free Coaster Challenge + Mako 10th Anniversary
SeaWorld Orlando is inviting thrill enthusiasts to take on a free challenge: ride all eight coasters in the park and earn a commemorative lanyard and poster. Be sure to share your journey on social media using #SeaWorldCoasterChallenge.
A special limited-edition shirt is also available for purchase at the SeaWorld Store while supplies last.
In honor of Mako’s 10th anniversary, the park is offering a commemorative tour of the legendary coaster. Tours take place Sunday, August 16 at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., with only 50 spots available per tour. Reservations for the free tour must be made in person at the SkyTower Tour Desk on a first-come, first-served basis for Pass Members who are present at sign-up.
Pass holders can also pick up a complimentary exclusive lanyard and pouch at Reef Treasure from August 16–31 to celebrate the milestone.

LEGOLAND Florida: Coastersaurus Reopens After Major Refurbishment
LEGOLAND Florida is celebrating the return of its classic wooden roller coaster, Coastersaurus — the only fully wooden coaster in Florida — on National Roller Coaster Day.
Originally known as Triple Hurricane when it operated at Cypress Gardens Adventure Park, Coastersaurus has recently undergone a multi-year refurbishment that keeps the spirit of this classic wooden coaster alive. The process unofficially began in 2013 when lighter Millennium Flyer trains replaced the original heavier Philadelphia Toboggan Company trains. In the latest phase, the entire track was completely replaced with fresh wood, the structure reinforced, and brand-new safety features—including lighting and monitoring equipment—added along the ride path. The Millennium Flyer trains were also refurbished, and a brand-new ride control system was installed.
These upgrades will keep Coastersaurus delighting guests of most ages for years to come. Experience the refreshed wooden coaster starting August 16 at LEGOLAND Florida Resort.
